If you are on Instagram or Facebook you may have noticed a surge in the hashtags #locallygrown #americanflowers or #slowflowers. Buying local flowers not only benefits our environment but our local economy. I feel so spoiled to live in the bay area where I get to buy directly from local growers. Here are a few flowers we get directly from our lovely flower farmers.
Pincushion proteas from Grow your own lunch. Farmer Ben is both philanthropist and agriculturalist cultivating tasty school gardens and harvesting beautiful proteas from his farm on the Carmel coast.
Among my favorite seasonal flowers, these lovely little ranunculus come from Figone farms located in Half Moon Bay.
Garden roses from Neve Brothers Farm in Petalum, CA. Unlike most roses these beauties have a scent.
